Residential Services Overview
OPADC is registered with the National Air Duct Cleaners Association (NADCA) as well as the Indoor Air Quality Association (IAQA). We are fully qualified to provide service for commercial industry, offices as well as residential homeowners.
For residential houses we provide a full cleaning of the ventilation system. We arrive at your home with a 60 horsepower, truck mounted vacuum system. We run a large diameter vacuum hose to your furnace system, hooking up to the Supply AND Return system. The return system, which is often skipped by some competitors, is an important component of the air moving system. The return system while pulling in air to feed the furnace also pulls in the ambient air born dust, pet hair and dander, eventually choking the furnace air supply, so cleaning it is vital. We also connect to each run of the supply system coming off of the furnace plenum, which helps prevent contamination of you air conditioning coil and heat evaporator.
Once we have hooked the vacuum system into the ducting, we close off various registers throughout the house to help increase the suction. We compound the vacuum pressure by applying highly compressed air through each individual vent in the house, moving the dust down to the main duct line where the vacuum system is attached.
Once we have cleared the house vents, both supply and return, we continue the cleaning in the basement. Using specially designed brass fitted plastic air rods, we feed a three line rubber whipper through the main duct lines. This rubber whipper assembly is actuated by the compressed air and vigorously agitates and cleans the walls of the duct line. As well as loosing the dust, the whipper creates a wall of air which pulls all the dust and debris back into the vacuum system. This process is repeated for each of the main supply and return lines running from the furnace.
We will also air wash the furnace fan assembly and visually inspect the humidifier and burner assembly as well as your air filtration system and water panel. If you have air conditioning installed, we will also clean the top of the coil inside the furnace system and air wash the heat absorption blades.
To complete our job we can offer an optional infrared video inspection of the cleaned main supply lines at no extra cost.
